This was one frustrated goose!


It was all happening down at Doctors Pond this evening…with the first batch of ducklings having arrived not long ago. Whilst it took a while I can report that this youngster worked out how to get out of the pond and rejoin mother…after a few attempts of attempting to leap out of the pond the duckling finally noticed the ramp leading out of the water next to him!

I wasn’t expecting the quite thick mist that greeted me this morning, but it was a mild morning and spring certainly feels like it’s in the air…the oil seed rape is already flowering and there is an abundance of blossom around Great Dunmow at the moment…

Whilst the bath makes a great high key background, the cat refused to look at me…which was fairly typical for Elijah


This morning on my march around Dunmow we had a buzzard, robins, wrens, blackbirds, dunnocks, a magpie, crows, pigeons, various finches, blue tits, collared doves and this House Sparrow who had moved into the Dunnocks hedgerow…so plenty of activity.
