Playing with some office fittings this evening…any ideas what it is?
Even a plug hole drainer can be used to produce an image…
Looking for perspective shots for my current photography course I looked up during our walk around Rowney Woods and saw what I thought were lots of birds nests in the tree. On closer inspection they were actually dead leaves that had been trapped in twigs that were growing vertically on the side of the trunk.
I toned this black and white image (with a blue colour to the highlights) to emphasis the cold nature of the day.
I have absolutely no idea if this pair are “heaving to” I know even less about sailing than I do about birds.
It was another rather dull day on the Suffolk coast so I popped up to Alton Water to see what was going on – there was lots of bird activity and I got some very poor pictures of a pair of lapwings flying past. There was also a large flock of geese that flew over and settled on a nearby field to rest and eat – more of that after the break…oh, and there was an abandoned shoe as well…
You’ll notice I resisted the temptation to drop the video for Sailing by Rod Stewart on here…you can thank me later 😉
I took another stroll down the beach at Lower Holbrook. On my way back to the car I met these two gentlemen heading out for some birding. Unfortunately they had misjudged the tide completely. with the tide being pretty much all the way out. They asked me if I had seen much and I advised that there didn’t seem to be much bird life going on. They continued on their way and I took this shot a few minutes later – I love the fact that one of the gents appears to be having a tantrum about the position of the tide 😉
Playing around with a corkscrew and a lamp in the kitchen this evening…I had hoped to get it with its “arms” up…but I didn’t have the patience to work out how to do that 😉
Following on from my previous forks and shadows photograph I thought I’d have a go a spoons this time. Not as interesting as the forks shot, but I enjoy the simplicity of these pictures.
A busy day at work meant no lunchbreak and then poor weather prevented a quick run out on the way home…so I dug the forks out, which I haven’t done for a while. It was quite restful setting them up to produce this shadow pattern…simply satisfying.
I don’t know why, but this makes me think of Christmas.
I still haven’t got the shot I want of this bridge, but I was quite happy with this one. I may need to go and work on the processing a bit more…
