I know, she’s missing her bonnet 😉

This female mallard duck was being pestered up and down Doctors Pond in Great Dunmow by various male mallards – she was definitely centre of attention.

I had to pop out to the Post Office this morning and it was such a beautiful morning that I grabbed a few shots of Doctors Pond on my way back. This is a 3 shot HDR taken on my Sony NEX7 and processed using photomatix, lightroom, photoshop, with a bit of Nik Colour Efex Pro thrown in for good measure 😉

A Canada Goose (Branta canadensis) flying low over Doctors Pond in Great Dunmow this evening

Playing around with symmetrical images today sees a slightly different take on Doctors Pond. The image was taken and split down the middle(ish) and rejoined. Just to add a little tension to the image I removed some of the symmetry, particularly from the geese.

The dreary weather continues unabated…I popped out inbetween showers and grabbed this shot of the local Geese around Doctors Pond, then an almighty crash of thunder and flash of lightning sent me scurrying back home. I then spend the next couple of our mounting some images for our next round of the print competition at Bishops Stortford Camera Club.

I haven’t been up this early in the morning on New Years Day for probably about 35 years! I’m clearly getting older 🙁

So, this years 365 project gets off to an early start…when I stepped out of the house I was greeted with pretty flat grey skies…then the (very short) show began. Somewhere below the horizon gaps in the clouds allowed this lovely red sky to develop – I grabbed 6 shots of it over the 9 minutes there was any colour in the sky before it reverted back to flat grey. It was a good thing I was early as officially sun rise was at 08.06 here and all the action had finished by 07.59.

The town bell was clanging 8.00pm as I made my way back into the house!

Sunrise over Doctors Pond

Always a favorite location for me, but I don’t get here for sunrise very often…even though we are only about 20 yards away…bone idle!

Reflected Landings

I spent 20 minutes sitting on a bench on Doctors Pond in Great Dunmow one Saturday evening. Just enjoying the warm summer peace that you get here…sometimes. I spotted the ducks flying in a caught this shot of them as they came into land on the pond.

Moon over Dunmow

The sunset was quite dull today so instead of shooting that I turned around and caught this shot of Doctors Pond in Great Dunmow.

A break in the April Showers in Dunmow

Sunshine and showers here in Dunmow at the moment so here’s a quick photograph of Doctors Pond looking towards North Street.
