I wasn’t expecting the quite thick mist that greeted me this morning, but it was a mild morning and spring certainly feels like it’s in the air…the oil seed rape is already flowering and there is an abundance of blossom around Great Dunmow at the moment…
It does exactly what it says on the tin – it was freezing and it was foggy!
It really hasn’t been the best weather down here the last week or so – freezing fog this morning…lovely
It’s been a cold and very foggy day today in Dunmow…at least where I live. If you walked up to the High Street you got above the fog and it was a clear blue sky…still very cold though.
We’ve had a leaking radiator at home so we have had to be sparing with the heating as when you turn it on water sprayed across the room…we had the plumber in today to fix it…just in time for the weather to warm up again tomorrow. Still, it was nice to get a bit of warmth back into the house as you will see, outside it’s really rather unpleasant! Doctors Pond, of course, still provides an interesting picture even in the worst of conditions.
More murkyness this morning – this composition jumped out at me as I walked past…in a new landscape kind of way…I like it, I hope you do too
It was a proper Halloween morning, thick with fog today so I trotted down to the Churchyard to get some hackneyed shots of graves and memorials in the fog.
I’ve always enjoyed this particular memorial, I think it’s the only one of its sort in the Great Dunmow graveyard (although I haven’t examined the graveyard in any great detail). I’m not sure I have particularly caught the foggy atmosphere as well as I had hoped…but there you go.
Got up this morning to the first fog of the autumn. All the spiders webs had all the dew drops on them and I took the usual cliche shots of those…but they weren’t sharp enough to share so you get my favourite tree on my early morning walk instead…I have no doubt this tree will appear a number of times over the months to come 😉
A last minute decision to troop into London on Saturday wasn’t quite as successful as I’d hoped due to a heavy fog that took forever to lift…and then still lingered as quite a heavy haze.
So, it’s a bit foggy, it’ll be fine, you don’t need to see that well!
Could, of course, be a Close Encounter…
