Spotted these sycamore seeds that still hadn’t fallen in Rowney Woods today.
When I saw this very large crop of bulrushes it immediately got me thinking about Game of Thrones and heads on spikes and knew I wanted to get a shot of these from below to give a more overpowering feel to the picture. These, if you didn’t know, have gone to seed – hence all the “down” that creates that impaled look.
I really should have paid more attention to this plant when I was photographing it…I have no idea what it is and all the pictures I have of it are these close up shots. Never mind, thought they made a pretty interesting triptych anyway.
If you look back far enough you’ll find a similar picture to this back in my archives…except there was no oil seed rape in the previous version.
Captured today on a walk through Rickling Green and the Quendon Estate in Essex.
Another shot from the garden today – this time a chive seed head / flower bud thing 😉
So, following yesterdays post, this is what the foxgloves look like now.
Popped out into the back garden and took a short series of dandelion shots.
Up early this morning – I need to crack on with a 4000 word assignment…so out came the camera and procrastination set in…
Back out into the garden to try my hand at the dandelion heads again and I was pretty pleased with this one (and actually a couple of others you can see on my Flickr pages).
So, time to clean the bathroom I think 😉
