Another glorious day meant it was way to hot to venture out until 8.00pm in the evening. With sunset not until 9.20pm that’s not such a problem, the woods were still really dark with the heavy summer canopy blocking out much of the sunlight…so, this is a public footpath we (still) haven’t followed across the field of barley. I haven’t done any HDR for a while – so it was nice to run this shot through Photomatix to create this shot.
Spotted this (and a fair few other) poppies on the road side on my morning walk around Great Dunmow in Essex.
Some glorious weather around at the moment and the early morning walk is featuring a lot of blue sky. Here’s one of the Pill boxes on my route that is rapidly disappearing under all the summer growth.
Tuesday night is Camera Club night and we found ourselves at Hopleys garden centre in Much Hadham. It was a lovely evening, although I do accept you wouldn’t necessarily know that from this shot…still 😉
It was the first night of the summer program for the Bishops Stortford Camera Club tonight. We visited some woods by Perry Green where there have been plenty of bluebells, however the vast majority are well past their best so we made do with Brian setting himself on fire as a prelude to next weeks sparks evening.
A week or so ago we had snow and today summer arrived!
I popped out at lunch time and drove to Roydon to take a stroll along the river Stort. I was surprised to read my car temperature gauge at 17.5°. Walking back to the car later on a was surprised to find the sweat dripping from my forehead.
Obviously, that will be all the summer we see this year so I was glad to get out and enjoy it 😉
This was a nicely contoured field by the side of the river.
Back to the covered path between Rickling Green and Rickling mentioned a couple of posts ago.
So, this is from our walk on Saturday around Rickling and Rickling Green – the contrast between the sky, trees and ploughed field immediately caught my eye.
We’ve seen a brief return of Summer here over the last couple of days so we took a walk around Rickling and Rickling Green today. There was a typical English village scene with a cricket match taking place on the Green.
